Busy Moms Guide to Spring Cleaning

I am a list girl. Hand me a to-do list or better yet, a challenge, and I'll roll up my sleeves and knock it out in no time.

But, for spring cleaning this year, I wanted to change up my original 30-day deep cleaning challenge to a schedule that is a bit more realistic for us busy moms!

Because let's be honest, even for the most motivated and diligent cleaners, spring cleaning can feel a bit overwhelming.

With that being said, I'd like to introduce you to the Busy Mom's Guide to Spring Cleaning!

Click the image above to download and print your spring cleaning schedule!

After you download the schedule, I highly suggest printing it out and laminating it. This way you can use it for years to come!

This schedule is five weeks in total. Each week is dedicated to a specific area of your home.

Starting with week one, the main focus will be the kitchen!

  1. Inspect your fridge, freezer, pantry, sink, cabinets, counters, oven, stove, floors, and walls.

  2. Determine which area(s) need a deep clean the most, and also, consider what amount of time seems realistic for your schedule. Remember, this is not supposed to be a daunting task. Consider involving your kids in the cleaning itself, introducing a fun new activity for them while you crank out the activity, or putting in some headphones and getting it done after they've gone to sleep.

For all of week one, the kitchen is your focus. You get to decide how much you do, what needs to be done, and how you break it up.

Then, the next week you will focus on a new area of the house, and so on.

The goal is for you to pay attention to the spaces in your home that have been long forgotten.. the ones that aren't in your normal cleaning routine.

*TIP* I recommend decluttering the space and throwing out or donating any unwanted items before you begin deep cleaning.

Cleaning Supplies You'll Want on Hand:

(I use and recommend non-toxic cleaning products)

Click the links to buy straight from my Amazon storefront or favorite website!

Multipurpose Cleaning Cloths - for wiping down/dusting surfaces

Just add water to easily wipe down and dust any area in your home

Household Cleaner- This can be used all over your entire house + even as your floor cleaner!

This non-toxic cleaner is a favorite of ours and so safe that I even let my toddler clean with it!

Disinfecting Spray - for disinfecting the really dirty spaces (without the toxins!)

Use it to disinfect pet toys, children's toys, toilets, sinks, floors, light switches and everything in between.

Thieves or Molly's Suds Laundry Detergent

When washing curtains, linens, bath mats, towels, or even your everyday clothes you want to make sure you are choosing a non-toxic laundry detergent that is safe for the whole family!

Possible Needs:

Hydrogen peroxide for the washing machine if you have mold

Spare Spray Bottle- This can be used for multipurpose cleaner, white vinegar, or even disinfectant!

Mop- If you don't have the Tineco floor cleaner yet, then you'll want an old-fashioned mop!

Extendable Duster- if you have high ceilings this is a must! Feel free to order bins & organizers along the way if you find the need!

I hope you are ready to take on this spring cleaning schedule! It's simple enough to accommodate a busy life yet intentional enough to make some serious progress in your home!

Always, Jess
